This customizable industrial panel PC combines an LCD, projected capacitive touch screen and embedded computing system in one integrated unit. It is designed for machine control, production data collection, warehouse terminals, equipment dashboards and self-service systems that need to run local software without a separate external computer.
Project options include display size, processor platform, memory, SSD storage, operating system, serial and network interfaces, power input, touch configuration, cover glass, housing and mounting structure. The hardware platform is selected according to software workload, peripheral requirements, thermal conditions and expected product lifecycle.
If your system already includes a separate computer, compare our external capacitive touch monitor options instead. Learn more about Ever Glory’s display and Panel PC integration capabilities.
This industrial panel PC integrates the display, projected capacitive touch screen, embedded computer, memory, storage and I/O into one equipment-ready unit. It can run local HMI, monitoring, data-entry or terminal software without requiring a separate external computer.
The product should be selected according to software workload, required peripherals, operating environment and expected supply period. Processor, memory and storage options are not interchangeable marketing labels; each production configuration requires a controlled BOM, thermal review and operating-system validation.
| Requirement | Industrial Panel PC | Touch Monitor |
|---|---|---|
| Runs software locally | Yes | No |
| Contains CPU, RAM and storage | Yes | No |
| Requires an external computer | No, unless used as a client terminal | Yes |
| Main project inputs | Software, CPU load, I/O, OS and thermal requirements | Video input, touch interface and display requirements |
If your equipment already includes an IPC, PLC computer or embedded host, select an industrial touch monitor. If the front interface must run software independently, an integrated Panel PC may be more appropriate.
The processor should be selected according to the application rather than the highest available model number. Entry-level platforms may be suitable for simple HMI screens, data entry and lightweight terminal software. Higher-performance processors may be required for machine vision, multiple applications, database processing or complex graphical interfaces.
For each CPU option, confirm:
Older platforms such as Intel J1900 should not be presented as equivalent to current processor generations. They may remain useful for legacy compatibility, but lifecycle and software-support requirements must be reviewed.
RAM capacity should be matched to the operating system and application workload. SSD capacity should include sufficient space for the operating system, software, logs, databases, recovery image and expected field updates.
Windows or Linux compatibility must be confirmed for the selected processor, touch controller, network controller and serial hardware. An operating system should only be described as pre-installed when the license, image, language and activation method are included in the approved order.
Panel PC projects often require more than HDMI and USB. Machine and equipment integration may involve multiple LAN ports, isolated or non-isolated COM ports, RS232, RS422, RS485, GPIO, audio or wireless connectivity.
The interface list must state port quantity, protocol and connector type. “Rich interfaces” is not sufficient for engineering selection.
The PCAP touch system can be configured for single-touch or multi-touch software interfaces. Touch performance depends on the controller, sensor, cover-glass thickness, grounding, power quality and metal enclosure.
For glove, wet-hand or thick-glass operation, firmware tuning and system-level validation are required. Review the industrial PCAP controller selection guide before defining the final touch configuration.
Fanless cooling can reduce dust intake and mechanical maintenance, but suitability depends on processor power, enclosure material, internal layout, ambient temperature and installation airflow.
A high-performance CPU should not be placed in a sealed thin enclosure without thermal validation. The project review should define processor load, maximum ambient temperature, installation orientation and available heat-dissipation area.
The required DC input range should be selected according to the equipment power system. If reverse-polarity, overvoltage, overcurrent, surge or isolated power protection is required, each feature must be confirmed in the approved electrical design.
“Wide-voltage input” should be replaced by an exact range, such as a verified DC input specification, before publication.
The Panel PC can run HMI or supervisory software, display equipment status and communicate with controllers through Ethernet or serial interfaces. PLC and protocol compatibility depends on the customer’s software and I/O configuration.
Review the related multi-touch reliability guide for industrial control.
The integrated computer can support work instructions, operator login, barcode workflows, production reporting and quality records at factory workstations.
Panel PCs can support inventory operations, picking confirmation, shipping records and peripheral devices such as scanners and printers. Required USB, COM and LAN ports should be confirmed before hardware selection.
The unit can run equipment dashboards, local databases, maintenance interfaces and data-collection software. Processor and storage capacity should be selected according to the application workload.
An integrated Panel PC can reduce the need for a separate host computer in check-in, access or information terminals. For equipment that already includes a host controller, consider the 12.1-inch external touch monitor instead.

A Panel PC contains a processor, memory, storage and operating system and can run software independently. A touch monitor only provides display and touch input and requires an external host computer.
Processor availability depends on the current hardware platform and project lifecycle. The exact CPU model and generation must be confirmed in the approved specification rather than described only as Celeron, i3, i5 or i7.
Windows and Linux options can be evaluated according to the selected processor and peripheral controllers. Licensing, version, language, drivers and system image must be confirmed before production.
Yes. Memory, SSD capacity, LAN, USB, serial ports and other interfaces can be configured within the supported motherboard options. Every production configuration requires a controlled BOM.
Fanless operation depends on processor power, enclosure design, installation orientation and ambient temperature. It should only be stated after thermal validation of the selected configuration.
MOQ and lead time are project-based. They depend on the processor platform, RAM, SSD, LCD, touch configuration, motherboard, housing, operating-system image and validation requirements.
